12 Month FTC 
Hybrid - 1 day a week in office
 
My client is a very well established and exciting business based in Bristol.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in a large and highly regarded payroll team within an industry leading company who truly value their people.

Your days will be busy as you will have the opportunity to be involved in the full Payroll process working closely with your colleagues and liaising with the finance department and third parties.

Senior Accounts Assistant

Senior Accounts Assistant
Central Bristol 
Permanent – Hybrid 
Salary – Up to £28k
 
Requirements
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations, including but not limited to:
    • Bank accounts
    • Cash and card payments
    • Booking deposits
    • Online payments
 
  • Produce reporting and analysis to support sites and senior management, including:
    • Daily cash received / banked
    • Petty cash spend
    • Cash and card  variances
 
  • Investigate anomalies – working with sites to understand why variances have arisen and to help resolve the variance. Investigating and disputing potential fraud.
 
  • Support with New Sites Opening – ensuring that access to banking is set up, training sites etc.
 
  • Complete weekly cash up – make sure all weekly petty cash, sales, cash and card receipts are accurately recorded.
 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sites, help them with queries and requests.
 
  • Support Manager with developing new processes and systems, and process improvement.
Experience
Experience of an accounting role in similar sized or larger multi-site companies is essential.
AAT level 2 or above qualification is essential (level 3 plus desirable).
Experience with the following software/systems:
  • Excel (Essential)
  • Aztec (Preferable)
  • Access Dimensions (Preferable)

Assistant Accountant

Quinton Davies is seeking an AAT-Qualified Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team. The ideal candidate will be eager to expand their accounting knowledge while working to meet deadlines and supporting the Management Accountant with month end preparation.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly journals and reconciliations accurately and efficiently
  • Perform month-end and year-end ledger closure procedures
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Maintain fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation
  • Support prepayments and accruals
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, payroll controls, and debtors reconciliations
  • Reconcile margins, stock movements, and investigate variances
  • Conduct bank and income reconciliations and investigate cash discrepancies
  • Produce a weekly client flash report to show performance
  • Collaborate with the Management Accountant on monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Respond to client queries and raise concerns with the management team as needed
 
Skills & Competencies:
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Accurate with good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
  • Valid UK driving license
  • Experience working within a multi site organisation

Management Accountant

Quinton Davies is seeking a skilled Management Accountant for a new client in a new accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in producing monthly management accounts, dealing with accruals & prepayments, and have experience working within a multi-site organization. The role reports directly to senior management and is critical to the daily reporting functions of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Handling accruals & prepayments
  • Communicating with external stakeholders
  • Generating ad-hoc reports as requested
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Interacting with auditors
  • Developing budgets and forecasts
  • Creating cash flow projections
  • Responding to client inquiries with technical responses
  • Building strong client relationships
  • Mentoring junior team members
  • Identifying and addressing issues or offering solutions to improve processes
Key Skills & Experience:
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualification or equivalent experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaboration with team and client management
  • Ability to learn and receive feedback
  • Experience working in a multi-site organisation
  • Understanding of personal and business tax regulations and VAT/PAYE
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving license
  • Good Excel skills
