Management Accountant

Quinton Davies is pleased to share a great opportunity for a Management Accountant to join an established business going through massive growth.

 

You will responsible for preparation of monthly accounts, financial reports, cost analysis and cost control measures to optimize company profitability.

 

Proficiency in sage 200 and Equi2 reporting to the Head of Finance. You will also assist in annual company budgeting and profit forecasting.

 

Responsibilities

 

 

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, supporting schedules, and other financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the company’s accounting policies. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations, including variance to budget, prior year, and trends.
  • Collaborating with Project Teams to provide guidance and insights into project performance and financial risks
  • Cost analysis and cost control measures to optimize project and company profitability.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory reporting requirements such as VAT and CIS returns, PAYE/NIC submissions etc.
  • Provide necessary information to external payroll processor to ensure staff and deductions are paid accurately and on time. Deal with any payroll queries from staff or relevant authorities. Prepare and submit P11Ds.
  • Assist the Head of Finance with the annual statutory audit.
  • Assist with pricing and costing reviews as required
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Experience 

 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting, preferably within the commercial construction industry and within the SME sector.
  • Proficiency in Sage 200 and Equi2 software is essential 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Experience of managing payroll

Job title: Internal Finance Manager 
Salary: £48,000 - £58,000

Here are a few examples of what your daily tasks would include:
  • Reporting directly into the Finance Director

  • Quarterly VAT returns, updates for Life Assurance and Sick Pay policies 

  • Annual budgeting and cash flow forecasting 

  • Production of the annual accounts alongside the Finance Director 

  • Monitor and review financial processes and implement change

  • Maintain Xero certification

  • EACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified 

  • Working knowledge of Xero 

  • Great administration and mathematical skills 

  • Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word skills 

  • Exceptional communication, both verbally and written, to be able to effectively liaise with stakeholders 

     

Experience in the following is not essential but will help you in the role:
  • IRIS experience

My client is a well-recognised and growing accountancy practice across the West Midlands who offer a fantastic working environment as well as supporting you with your progression and development. They are looking for an experienced and confident Payroll Manager to join the team,  taking control of a portfolio of clients whilst managing and supporting the wider payroll team.

 

This job will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of payroll clients.
  • Dealing with HMRC queries
  • Preparation and administration of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Administration of PAYE, National Insurance deductions based on individual personal allowances.
  • Mandatory deductions and other statutory payments e.g. student loans, court orders etc. 
  • Preparation of monthly reports/analysis for Directors.
  • Be responsible for running P45 and P60 certificates when required and filing information online  to HMRC.
  • Supporting the wider payroll team with any queries.

 

Ideal candidate:

  • Minimum of 4 years payroll experience within a practice environment
  • Software knowledge Sage, Pay Circle or similar software’s.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
