Overview:

Duties & Main Responsibilities:

• Managing a varied portfolio of clients, overseeing workflow, deadlines, and budgets.
• Planning and undertaking assignments, striving to deliver service excellence.
• Leading a team of accountants, reviewing work, providing constructive mentorship, and motivating those around you.
• Owning responsibility of KPIs, including monthly billing forecasts and ensuring fee recovery rates are met.
• Contributing to the firm’s growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with prospective clients.
• Building trusted and long-lasting client relationships, proactively handing queries.
• Reviewing processes and implementing more efficient ways of service delivery.
• Setting an example to junior staff as a hands-on senior manager.

Experience, Attributes and Qualifications required:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with demonstrable experience within practice.
• Experience managing a client portfolio, with a results-driven approach.
• Previous experience leading a team, including reviewing work and providing mentorship.
• A can-do attitude to problem-solving.

What you’ll be doing in brief:

• Preparation of accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies for review by senior staff.
• Preparation of company tax return.
• Preparing personal tax returns.
• Bookkeeping using a variety of software.
• Preparation of payroll.
• VAT returns and other monthly/ quarterly filings.
• Assisting with management accounts.
• Liaising with third parties to gather the required information.
• Dealing with ad hoc queries and using initiative in different situations.

Role: Senior Accountant
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000
Location: Reading (Hybrid working options available)

Overview:
Quinton Davies is working on behalf of an established regional practice firm based in Berkshire who are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their successful team.

Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll be responsible for dealing with Statutory/Management Accounting and other related matters. This role also includes advising clients on business and taxation matters and generally looking for opportunities to add value and assist in their development.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

• Preparation of Taxation Computations based on accounts prepared
• Preparation of accurate Management Accounts on a timely basis
• Dealing with UK VAT returns and advising clients in connection with VAT matters
• Knowledge of Payroll and payroll preparation
• Preparation of Revenue and Cash Flow Forecasts
• Good communicator, both oral and written
• Ability to discuss technical matters competently with Clients
• Ability to manage own time and work within budgets

Experience and Qualifications required:

• University degree at 2.1 level or above
• ACA or ACCA part qualified
• Strong Technical Bias
• Knowledge of Iris, Xero and Sage accounting packages and Microsoft Excel and Word
• Worked in an Accountancy practice for at least 4 years
